1、Numbers 10~31 and even more.
2、Sentence patterns“How much is/are…?”and the answers.
1、 Students use English and Arabic numerals to talk about daily life correctly.
2、Students learn something of asking and answering price.
※ Introduce some popular currency units to students.
Teaching aids: Tape recorder, some cards written with English and Arabic numerals, several price tags, real objects
Task one: Let’s count and learn!
Students try to solve some math problems such as“1+9=? 3+8=? 5+7=?”in English.
Teach: 10~31 and some more.(English and Arabic)
2、Find out the quantity of your books/pens/pictures/close friends etc. and then tell us.
Task two: My favorite/important numbers. (Pairwork)
Students talk in pairs to know something about each other’s favorite/important numbers(Maybe a phone number or QQ number).
Task three: Listen and write.
1、Textbook page 40:2a. Get the students to do the listening practice.
2、Have a contest: Who is correct and fast?
Teacher says some numbers in English or Chinese, students write them out in Arabic or English.
Task four: Let’s talk about price!
1、Teacher shows some samples to the class like this:
This is my watch. How much is it? It’s 500 yuan, that means it’s about 60 dollars. etc
Teach: “How much is/are…?” and “dollar、yuan and some other popular price units like pound.”
2、Survey: How much is/are your…? (Groupwork)
Students move around in the classroom ,and make a survey to know prices of their friends’ stationery. Then give a report to us.
1、Read and remember numbers you have got today.
2、With your parents’help, try to know the prices of your furniture and then take notes(a form/chart/an article is possible) in English .
