    ■ Warm up by talking about the picture.
Hello, class. Would you go to study abroad after you graduate from this school? I think some of you will be studying abroad. But first let's go to page 96 to look at the picture. What do you see in the picture? Could you talk about what you see and what they do in the picture? You may make use of the example sentences below.
This hospital has accommodation(s) for 400 patients. 这个医院有400个床位。

    ■Listen and read.
On page 96 is a conversation among Lingling, Daming, Tony, Head Teacher and Becky Wang. What are they talking about?
Before we listen to it, let's go on to read it first. While reading, try to: cut/ the sentence into thought groups, study the predicative, darken the connectives and underline all the useful expressions. (阅读过程中,断开/意群,观察谓语构成,圈出连词,摘录短语搭配。)
    Useful expressions (有用的短语搭配)
look nice, look smart, a bit tight, the whole class, behind…, welcome to the school prize-giving,  one's special guest, the singer with…, a huge fan, give a warm welcome to…, present the prizes, as a pupil, get the special prize, pocket money, do an English course, start on August 1st,   meet … at the airport, start work in the studio, on 3rd August, a wonderful prize
    ■ Study agreement of subject and predicate.
Singular subjects need singular verbs. Plural subjects need plural verbs.
These are the basic rules for the agreement of subject and predicate.
Now go over the conversation to find some sentences to support these rules.
    Your hair looks nice!
My new trousers are a bit tight ...
    Everyone is watching us.
The whole class is just behind us.
The group is very popular--everyone in my family is a huge fan!
... so finally, the New Standard team gets the special prize.
    ■ Turn the conversation into a text.
We are now going over the conversation again to turn it into a text.
